Specialising in gear, gearbox and engineered component design and the simulation of mechanical products that are of world-class quality, our team of experienced design engineers use state-of-the-art 3D modeling and simulation software to take your mechanical designs to ‘Finished Product’ with even greater accuracy.
We use Australian and international standards, and draw upon comprehensive knowledge and resources in gear design and reverse engineering.
Our technical expertise:
- 3D Mechanical Operation
Using Solidworks and AutoCAD Inventor, 3D simulation equips design engineers with pin-point accuracy in the design of complex gears, gear trains and other mechanical components.
- 3D Stress, Strain and Deflection Analysis
Our design engineers analyse stress and strain by simulating the loads on mechanical components, and use the data collected – which includes deflection of component and safety factors of components in operation – to optimise the finished product. •
- 3D Manufacturing Simulation
Working alongside the machining and CNC divisions of Crown Engineering, we use 3D manufacturing simulation to simplify and improve the manufacture of detailed components. It helps us to push the boundaries of manufacturing and deliver accuracy and quality time and again. •
- 2D Drawing and Design
We have the capacity to design, draw and simulate a diverse range of mechanical based products. Most projects can be taken through simulated operation, load testing, finite element analysis and production simulation – and we inevitably arrive at the optimum design based on cost, capacity and manufacturing.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
FEA is used in the development and design for everything from a single component through to complex assemblies. With this tool we are capable of providing detailed visual evidence of stiffness and strength. Through this visual medium we can apply bending and twisting motions to show the distribution of stresses and displacements.
- Reverse Engineering
With a large range of measuring and manufacturing tools available to Crown Engineering, we provide an extensive reverse engineering service. In conjunction with our comprehensive library of standards, replacement parts can easily be manufactured according to the sample provided. With our engineering team on hand we are able to offer improvements to the current design to help in extending the service life or finding ways to increase the loads exerted onto the component.
